We are making progress with the first cohort of young people who are building Stamford Brook in Minecraft - part of the wider 'Chiswick In Minecraft' project.  More details on the project can be found here. We have the corner of Emlyn, Prebend and Stamford Brook Road laid down and an intrepid group of young players are starting to build Stamford Brook tube station.  But we need more players so if you know of any children who would be interested in playing please email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. We have a new map available to play with showing a live feed of all the listed properties in Stamford Brook & Ravenscourt Park.  The map is fully interactive and allows you to click on an icon and pull up a picture and description of the building in question.

The map was put together by data and mapping expert Dan Cookson - @danc00ks0n - using a data set that has been made available to developers by English Heritage.  The map also includes information on the Blue Plaques in the area using data made available by openplaques.org.   Dan's map actually covers the whole of the UK but he has kindly shared the Stamford Brook section with us.

William Bowyer 1926 - 2015

Born in Staffordshire in 1926, Bowyer trained as an artist at night while toiling in a coal mine during the day as a Bevin Boy. At the Royal College of Art he was taught by those great advocates for figurative art in Britain, Ruskin Spear and Carel Weight—mentors who went on to become life-long friends. His work is firmly rooted in the nitty-gritty of everyday life and tied to very specific places—particularly the Thames near his London home in Chiswick and the Suffolk coast between Dunwich and Southwold. He put down deep roots in both places and until his recent serious illness was noted for being out and about with his paints and easel at all times of day and in all weathers.

CarolServiceStamford Brook Residents were invited to join the congregation of the Seventh Day Adventist Church for their annual Carol Service in December. It was lots of fun and very musical with local children acting out a Nativity scene, carols, mince pies and lots more including an collection for Acton Homeless Concern.

For many of us this was the first chance we get to have look inside the new Church building, which opened in Stamford Brook this year and to hear their adult and children's Gospel Choirs sing.

Many of you will remember how amazing it was when the choir from the SDA Church joined us for our Jubilee Fete on Stamford Brook Common a few years ago. It would be wonderful to get as many local families to join us at their Carol Service.

It was great to see so many Stamford Brook locals attend
